About Ms. Gomez

Hello!

My name is Alyssa Gomez, professional school counselor at Hutchins Elementary School for the 2025-26 school year. My goal is to advocate for all students by providing services that promote equitable access to learning. As well as, support each student’s individual social/emotional, personal, academic, and career development through the establishment of trusting relationships and partnerships with families, school staff, and community members as outlined by the Texas Model for School Counseling Programs.

A little about me...

I am a proud graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where I received my Bachelor's degree in Education and The University of Texas at San Antonio where I received my Master's in school counseling. This will be my third year as a professional school counselor and my ninth year in education. I taught fourth grade students at Southwest ISD, then moved to Northside ISD to be a kindergarten teacher for two years. I have always enjoyed working with kids and am passionate about working with students through a whole-child approach, in order to meet their social/emotional and academic/career needs. 

I look forward to working with all Hutchins students, parents, and staff this year!
